Amazon

A Broad View Of This Green Land

The Amazon is a vast territory composed of multiple ecosystems; dry land, wetlands and swamps. It is a region where several indigenous groups live, among these are the Huaorani, Zápara, Secoya, Cofán, Shuar, Achuar and Kichwa. These groups have large areas of land in the Amazon. From the time of the Conquest, the Amazon has always been a mysterious place, take for instance the mythical El Dorado, the secret city of the Incas.

The rainforest has invaluable biological richness such as the Yasuni National Park, the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, the Sangay National Park and the Podocarpus National Park. There are thousands of indigenous communities living harmoniously with Sacha (the jungle). It is a region which is easily accessible because of land, air and river routes.
